Bengaluru: A palpable hush descended on the hall and one could almost discern pens scratching away on paper, as over 350 children from 175 schools put their thoughts down at the Times NIE Wordsworth Essay Writing Competition, held in association with Sprouts Edu Tours at Chettri Hall, Parachute Regiment Training Centre, Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Setting off on a happy journey with adventures they’d like to go on and, experiences already lived, the children wrote on topics, ‘My most memorable trip experience’ and ‘The top-5 must visit destinations in the world’.
One can only imagine the number of touchdowns, the students would have made at the most interesting locations. Continuing their journey, the students also penned down their dream destinations on a wish wall in the hope that they will one day, be able to actually pay a visit to these places.
Addressing students, founder and CEO of Sprouts Edu Tours, Sushil Rai encouraged them to explore new travel opportunities and adventure destinations. Chief operating officer at Sprouts Edu Tours, Ravikumar Malladad also addressed the gathering.
Principal of Army Public School, PRTC Jerry Brinda Solomon encouraged students to seize every opportunity that came their way. Do not wait endlessly for the right moments to come, she urged, using a thought-provoking story to drive home the point. Competitions like these provide the right platform to improve and gain confidence, she emphasized.
Snack hampers were provided by Tata Soulfull.
